Course Description
This course provides students with advanced skills in digital imaging and computer illustration. They will study a variety of illustration styles and design periods and begin to develop a personal style of their own. Students will learn how to use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator together to leverage techniques for a particular design problem.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Identify important graphic design periods, styles, and trends and apply a specific style to a design problem.
- Develop a personal style for solving design problems.
- Combine advanced features of Photoshop and Illustrator appropriately for a specific design application.

You are required to obtain your software and textbook(s) prior to the start of the semester.
Software
- Adobe Illustrator CS5
- Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended
(Note that the software does not come with the textbooks. You need a fully licensed application—a trial version will not suffice.)
