Planning Your Schedule

The new Web Fundamentals Certificate can be completed as quickly as 1 year, and the Web Professional Certificate or the Web Professional Associate Degree can be completed as quickly as 2 years.

If you wish to reach your academic goals quickly, careful planning is needed to ensure that you take courses in the correct sequence and take advantage of when courses are offered. Some courses are offered every semester, some are only offered once per year, and some electives are offered every other year. Beginning in the Fall is most ideal, but you can begin any semester and still make progress.

It is recommended that you seek guidance on courses sequences before you begin your first semester in the program so you can meet your academic goals within your desired timeframe.

Your schedule should ideally follow the plan for the Web Professional Certificate, with general education courses inserted, where appropriate.

Taking One Course at a Time

Many students work full time and/or have family obligations that constrain them to taking just 1 course per semester or even skipping semesters occasionally. There is no problem with this approach, as long as you are mindful about a few guidelines:

  • DMA C102 and DMA C111 should be the first and second courses you take.
  • DMA C280 should be taken in your last semester, as it is the capstone course.
