eCommerce and Digital Media Classes

Do you want to become more savvy with delivering your business products and services online? Do you want to use social media marketing more effectively? Cerro Coso Community College is offering courses this Spring to help you build and maintain a strategic online business presence and develop digital media to enhance communication with your customers, clients, and stakeholders.
DMA C201 e-Commerce, course registration number (CRN) 33090, provides participants with a foundation in market analysis, social media marketing, customer service, and product or service development for electronic commerce. Participants also develop a business concept and create a functioning e-commerce web site. After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Evaluate the suitability of a business venture for electronic commerce.
- Evaluate the suitability of revenue models for a specific application.
- Evaluate the suitability of different forms of digital marketing for a specific application.
- Develop a social media marketing plan.
DMA C102 Digital Imaging, CRN 33082, provides participants with skills to enhance digital photographs and create composite digital images, web graphics, and social media content. Students also learn design elements and principles for composing attractive and effective image messaging.
DMA C111 Fundamentals of Web Development, CRN 33087, provides participants with the skills to write HTML code and style web pages with cascading stylesheets. Participants are also introduced to WordPress–an easy-to-use content management system.
DMA C201 and DMA C102 are taught by Vickie Taton, owner of Social Sierra, a social media marketing and education firm in the Eastern Sierra. Vickie has taught digital media arts courses for Cerro Coso for over 10 years and brings a wealth of social media marketing experience to her students. DMA C111 is taught by Suzie Ama, who has been a web developer for 24 years and has been teaching digital media arts courses at Cerro Coso for over 20 years.
